Carimi (carry me) is arguably one of the most famous Haitian kompa music bands of the 21st Century.
Who are the members of Carimi?
The original group members of the Carimi Haitian band are Mickaël Guirand, Richard Cave & Carlo Vieux.
The immensely popular Haitian band released their debut album, “Bang Bang” in 2000.
Carimi Separation
The last album released by the group was “Invasion” in 2013. The group members ultimately separated in 2016 after 15 years together.
Michael Benjamin & Carimi
The trio recently kicked off a reunion tour and performed live in concert at the Accor Arena in Paris, France, on October 15, 2022.
Sadly, it was at this concert event, that Haitian music legend Michael Benjamin (Mikaben) passed away after performing live with Carimi on stage.
While Michael Benjamin (Mikaben) was not officially part of the trio that made up Carimi, he was however pretty close with the members of the group, so much so that he even collaborated with the group on several musical projects such as the hit song, “Ou pati. “
