Early this morning, the Chairman of Digicel Haiti, Maarten Boute, confirmed that 2 of the company’s fiber optic cables had been cut near Cotes des Arcadins and Lembe.

The damage has resulted in service outages throughout Haiti’s Artibonite & North West departments since about 3 o’clock this morning.

The Digicel executive confirmed that a team of technicians had already been mobilized to repair and restore service to the affected areas.

This is the latest of several incidents within the past week involving severed fiber optic cables that Digicel Haiti operates.
