In a note published on its official Twitter page on September 8, 2022, Digicel Haiti informed its customers in the North Department that 3 of its fiber optic cables that service the area had been cut the night before.

The affected areas include:
  • 1. A location on Route Nationale 1
  • 2. A second location in Cap-Haitian
  • 3. A third site along the route from Cap-Haitian & Ouanaminthe

Digicel Haiti stated that its technicians have made numerous attempts to repair the cables but have encountered various roadblocks preventing passage to the affected areas.

The telecommunications company stressed that it would continue to make every effort to restore service but asked the general public for assistance in allowing technicians road passage to reach the affected areas & conduct the necessary repairs to its damaged network infrastructure.

The note concluded with the company offering a sincere apology to all of its affected customers and asked for their continued patience as its technicians work to resolve all connectivity issues.
