According to a press release issued by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents at the Del Rio Border Patrol sector in Texas have made over 180 arrest involving Haitian nationals this past week.

The press release states that on June 11, agents arrested a group of 14 people from Haiti.

The following week, Del Rio Station agents came across increasingly more Haitians, including a large group of 44 people on June 17.

In total, more than 180 Haitian arrests have been made this past week at the Del Rio Border Patrol sector.

The Del Rio Station also reported that prior to the recent spike in arrests, only about 17 Haitians had been apprehended at the sector since Oct. 1, 2018.
