Haiti’s Ministry of Health (MSPP) confirms new cases of Cholera

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, Haiti’s Ministry of Health (MSPP) informed the general public of a confirmed case of Cholera in Savane Pistache/Decayette (Port-au-Prince). MSPP also confirmed additional suspected cases in the area of Brooklyn (a neighborhood in Cité Soleil). PDF

Caribbean Bottling Company halts production of Culligan Water

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, the Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC) announced that it could no longer produce or distribute Culligan water due to the depletion its diesel supplies.

The company further reiterated that the fuel storage that currently plagues Haiti had paralyzed all of its production and distribution chains which rely solely on diesel fuel. CBC will continue to work closely with local authorities to restart its operations as soon as possible.

CESFronT detains 43 Haitian nationals with irregular immigration status.

On Sunday, October 2, 2022, The Dominican Republic’s border security agency, CESFronT, confirmed that it had detained 43 Haitian nationals with irregular immigration status in a house in the Dajabón province. Among the group were five minors.

Sogebank branches will only be open for three days a week.

Sogebank has announced that due to the current fuel shortage in Haiti, its branches will only be open for three days a week (Monday-Wednesday-Friday). The new schedule will go into effect on October 3, 2022.
