ONI introduce new Haitian National ID Cards

Haitian National Identification Cards

On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, ONI held a press conference introducing the new Haitian National Identification Cards (CIN). A full replay of the press conference is available here: VIDEO

Special Holiday Message

In a video address to the nation, President Jovenel Moise & First Lady Martine Moise delivered a special holiday message of hope & change for the new year.

During the address, the Haitian President & First Lady wished the Haitian people a Merry Christmas (2020) and Happy New Year (2021). VIDEO

Infrastructure Projects

President Jovenel Moise announced the start of infrastructure projects in the Northwest Department of Haiti.

Road projects are currently underway to connect the communes of Bombadopolis, Bedeyen & Mole Saint Nicholas.

L’Électricité d’Haïti (EDH)

Construction at the new Port-de-Paix power station is progressing quickly.

The power station will house (6) generators, (4) of which have already been installed. VIDEO

Once completed, the station will produce about 10 megawatts of electricity.

In addition to Port-de-Paix, the plant will also provide power to the communes of: Bassin-Bleu, Chansolme, Saint-Louis-du-Nord and Anse-à-Foleur.

Police Nationale d’Haiti

The Haitian Nation Police confirmed that they will have an increased presence on Haiti’s major roadways while also systematically conducting identity checks during the country’s year end celebrations.

Léon Charles, the Director General of the Haitian National Police, also wished the Haitian people a Merry Christmas (2020) and Happy New Year (2021). VIDEO

Haiti Ministry of Public Health (MSPP)

Haiti’s Ministry of Health (MSPP) continued to urge the public to wear face-mask in its continued efforts to warn the public against the damaging effects of COVID-19. The PSA can be watched here: VIDEO
