Earlier today, former 2-time President of Haiti, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, was rushed by air to seek immediate medical attention abroad.

Radio Tele Ginen, a prominent local news outlet in Haiti, captured the dramatic scenes of the former President being transported on a stretcher from an ambulance to a waiting plane. VIDEO

No official statement was made regarding the nature of the former president’s health emergency.

René Sylvestre

René Sylvestre, the current President of Haiti’s Court of Cassation and the Superior Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ), has sadly passed away.

President Jovenel Moise acknowledged the death of Chief Justice Sylvestre in a tweet on his official Twitter page.

Social Unrest

The Haitian government held a press conference today to discuss several matters of national concern, with special emphasis on nation health and insecurity issues.

Among the most pressing issues discussed was the increase in the amount of Haitian residents fleeing their homes in neighborhoods that have experienced a significant rise in crime & instability. VIDEO
