Haiti PM speech at 77th Session of the UN General Assembly
On Saturday, September 24, 2022, Haiti’s Prime Minister, Dr. Ariel Henry, was noticeably absent from this year’s 77th Session of the UN General Assembly. In his absence, Haiti’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean Victor Généus, delivered the PM’s prepared speech. You can watch the full address here: VIDEO.
CESFronT detains 28 Haitian nationals in Montecristi
On September 25, 2022, The Dominican Republic’s CESFronT border agency confirmed that they had detained 28 Haitian nationals with irregular immigration status. CESFronT intercepted the group on a bus travelling along the Copey-Las Matas de Santa Cruz road section in Montecristi.
Digicel Haiti
In a Twitter post on September 24, 2022, the Chairman of Digicel Haiti, Maarten Boute, stated that the company’s technical teams are trying to go to the provinces to repair some of the damaged fiber optic cables and refuel antennas. Likewise, he also stated that the company is trying to support hospitals that cannot function because of a lack of gas. Mr. Boute also plead for the public’s solidarity in allowing it’s technicians the freedom to access roads to conduct the much-needed repairs.
