The 2023 Little Haiti Kanaval Block Party took place on Friday, February 17, 2023, at the Little Haiti Cultural Center in Miami, Florida. Sounds of Little Haiti & VGM Marketing Group organized the event in collaboration with various partners & sponsors.
The Kanaval block party kicked off around 6 P.M. and lasted until about 11 P.M. Mecca, a.k.a Grimo Marcelin, and Comedian Kako Bourjolly hosted the event.
Along with jamming out to classic Haitian carnival songs by King Posse, the vibrant crowd enjoyed live musical performances by Tjo Zenny (Kreyol La), Team Lobey, Maestro (Ti Ansyto), Paul Beaubrun & Rara Lakay.
There was even a special guest appearance by Miss Universe Haiti Mideline Phelizor, a top sixteen finalist at this year’s Miss Universe competition.
The Kanaval block party also featured various specialty food vendors that served many traditional Haitian carnival dishes.
