Haitian migrants apprehended near Inagua, Bahamas.

A sailing vessel reportedly carrying 100 Haitian migrants was apprehended near Inagua, Bahamas, on Thursday afternoon.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Operation Bahamas Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamas Immigration Department performed the joint operation.

According to a post on the RBDF’s website, an Operation Bahamas Turks and Caicos helicopter spotted the sailing vessel about 30 nautical miles northwest of Inagua and then later apprehended by a Defence Force interceptor.

All of the migrants were transported to Inagua and subsequently released to Immigration authorities for processing.
