The First Annual Haiti Tech Summit took place on June 6th and 7th. The two day conference was held at the Royal Decameron Beach Resort in Côte des Arcadins, Haiti.
The event was primarily organized by founder Christine Souffrant Ntim and the Global Startup Ecosystem, an organization that provides detailed reports on online digital trends in countries around the world.
The summit hosted a diverse group of global attendees from various industries. Many sessions included panel talks with entrepreneurs, investors, musicians, local business leaders and Silicon Valley professionals.
Some of the major U.S. tech firms with representatives in attendance included Google, Facebook, Uber, Airbnb, PayPal and Adobe.
Also present were some notable Haitian tech influencers and social media personalities.
There was even a special appearance by President Jovenel Moise in which he delivered a brief address on his vision for the future of technology in Haiti.
